Site Visit - 20th June 2018

The recent site visit was a real buzz of activity. The prior 3 days of constant rainfall created rivers of water flowing down the site causing a slight delay in the pouring of the driveway. To catchup, Luke and James concentrated on the build internally installing the stairways, kitchen and waterproofing the bathroom and toilets.
The above photo was a rare sight of blue skies caught through rain clouds. It also shows the western side of the buildings featuring aluminium window shades, which not only save energy costs, but also create an architectural element.

As can be seen in the image above, the brand new kitchens have been installed, showing a full size pantry and wide fridge space. The window splash back and the full length window on the side of the kitchen fills the space with natural light. James and Luke are shown inspecting the kitchen before the stone bench tops, appliances and sinks are installed towards the end of construction.

The stairs have also been installed. This will be lined with a luxurious carpet which acts as the connection between the resting area upstairs to the living area downstairs. Flooded with light, this area will be bright and flowing.

The bathroom, showers and ensuite has now had waterproofing applied before tiling.

The tiler is preparing the mixture for tiling of bathrooms, toilets and laundry.

Taking the opportunity in between rain sessions, the brick cleaner is hard at work, spraying the walls with their acid mixture using a high pressure hose, before washing it off with water. The results is a clean brick wall, free from residual mortar and grim on the face of the bricks, as can be seen below.

We will strive to bring an update on the build very soon.
