Concordia - Teralba

It has been a very long time since our buyers have been updated on the progress of Concordia. With the collapse of our previously engaged builder, Sehez Construction, it has been a complicated few months with the delay in construction. We wish to thank everyone for their patience and understanding

In the background, we have been sourcing, interviewing and selecting builders who are capable of building Concordia. Our aim was to find a builder who not only had the capacity and experience, but also the integrity to work with us and carry our vision forward. After interviewing many builders in Newcastle and around Hunter Valley, we finally decided to sign with Newcastle Engineering and Construction (NEACON). They are a company that has had experience with residential builds both in the single home and also multi-dwelling space. Importantly, we share the same goals of concentrating all our efforts in a single project so that we can complete them for our buyers as quickly as possible.

Since the end of August, NEACON has been simultaneously constructing units 3 and 4, as well as renovating unit 2 and 5. Progress has been rapid, with unit 3 at lock up and unit 4 almost at lock up.

The renovation builds in unit 2 and 5 have also progressed very rapidly, especially considering the extensive amount of new framing and truss material needed. As you can see in the image above, the darker timber furthest away from the image is the only original hardwood timber remaining in the frame.

What has slowed us down, has been the weather of late. The consistent rain that has fallen upon Newcastle in October has delayed us in laying the slab for unit 1, 6 and 7. The good news is, as you can see in the above image, that is no longer the case. The slab for the units 6&7 (above) have been poured. It almost calls for a mini-celebration!
